AHI Hosts Noon Forum to Commemorate Greek Independence Day on “George Jarvis: An American Fighter for Greek Independence” with AHI Chairman James Marketos

WASHINGTON, DC—On March 23, 2006, AHI hosted a Noon Forum to commemorate Greek Independence Day at the Hellenic House with James Marketos, AHI Chairman and Attorney at Law, Berliner, Corcoran & Rowe, L.L.P. The discussion was on “George Jarvis: An American Fighter for Greek Independence.”

James Marketos, Esq. is partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm of Berliner, Corcoran & Rowe, L.L.P., specializing in corporate litigation in the trial and appellate courts. In private practice for more than 20 years, he is a member of the New York and District of Columbia bars and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States and numerous lower federal courts. He began his legal career by clerking for the Honorable Vincent L. Broderick, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York. This followed receipt of his juris doctorate from New York University, where he was co-editor-in-chief of The Annual Survey of American Law and winner of the law school’s Vanderbilt Medal. Mr. Marketos received his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University. Mr. Marketos currently serves as Chairman of the Washington-based American Hellenic Institute, which promotes trade, business and governmental relations between the U.S. and Greece and Cyprus. He is also an editor of Doing Business in Greece: A Legal and Practical Reference Service, published by the Institute’s affiliated foundation.
