AHI Releases Two Op-Eds

WASHINGTON, DC — The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) released two op-eds that were published in a number of Greek American publications in April and May.

AHI President Nick Larigakis wrote “Does Anyone Care?” (click to read the full op-ed) on April 25, 2011. Larigakis explores why Greek Americans do not get more involved in the issues, offering the opinion that a majority of Greek Americans simply do not believe there are real threats to Greece. He also cites a lack of financial support to Greek American organizations as an example of the community’s apathy.

In the second op-ed, AHI Founder Gene Rossides examines the long history of Turkey’s unreliability as an ally in the op-ed titled “Turkey—Ally or Adversary?” (click to read the full op-ed) It was written April 9, 2011.

The op-ed received placement in the following publications: The National Herald, Greek News, The Hellenic Voice, Hellenic News of America, and The Greek Star.
