AHI Foundation Study Abroad Student’s Op-ed Published in University Newspaper

WASHINGTON, DC — Stephanos Karavas, a senior at Tufts University who participated on the 2012 American Hellenic Institute Foundation (AHIF) Foreign Policy Program, authored an op-ed titled “The Greek economic crisis in proper perspective,” which was published in The Tufts Daily, the university’s independent student newspaper on September 10, 2012.

“We are pleased that Stephanos was able to author an opinion piece about the Greek economic crisis based upon his experience from our study abroad program and share it with his peers and professors at Tufts University,” said AHI President Nick Larigakis.  “We thank The Tufts Daily for publishing his op-ed.  We look forward to providing many more students, like Stephanos, with the same opportunity to learn more about the history, politics, and economics of the eastern Mediterranean region.”

Karavas indicated he will be drafting additional op-eds on foreign policy topics for the university newspaper’s consideration.
