AHI Voices Unequivocal Support In Letter To President Bush Regarding Terrorist Attacks

On September 13, 2001, the American Hellenic Institute (AHI) sent a letter to President George W. Bush expressing its sorrow and voicing its unequivocal support of his decisions regarding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks against the United States.

In the letter to the President, AHI founder Eugene Rossides states that it is crucial that all American citizens stand united in this time of tragedy. AHI "supports strong and aggressive action against those who perpetrated these heinous attacks. We particularly support your statement that 'We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbored them.'"

Also highlighted in the letter was the importance of upholding American values, spearheaded by the rule of law, in a parallel crusade:

"Our response to the terrorists who committed these acts should be paralleled with a crusade for the promotion of American values of freedom, liberty, democracy, the rule of law and human rights worldwide and in all of our foreign policy decisions."
