USA Today Columnist: IOC at Odds with U.S. Interests

WASHINGTON, DC —To share in the discourse about the International Olympic Committee’s recent decision to drop Wrestling as an Olympic sport in 2020, the American Hellenic Institute (AHI) shares with its audience Author/Columnist Christine Brennan’s take on the IOC’s recent actions, which in her opinion, run contrary to the interests of U.S. sports.  Her column, “It seems at every turn, the International Olympic Committee is at odds with U.S. interests” was published in USA Today, Feb. 13, 2013 in the wake of the IOC’s recent decision to drop Wrestling as an Olympic sport in 2020.

“Christine has been a friend and supporter of AHI and her commentaries are greatly respected in the field of sports journalism,” said AHI President Nick Larigakis. “We felt it important to share her views on the wide scope of recent IOC decisions that are detrimental to U.S. sports.”

The American Hellenic Institute is an independent non-profit Greek American public policy center that works to strengthen relations between the United States and Greece and Cyprus, and within the Greek American community.
