Re: “THIS IS AMERICA VISITS CYPRUS” & “THIS IS AMERICA VISITS THE ANCIENT WORLD” TO AIR ON PBS, AMERICAN LIFE CABLE TV IN JULY

BACKGROUND

This Is America, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus, and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, recently visited Cyprus for the purpose of putting together a 3- part program, This Is America Visits Cyprus.

The program showcases aspects of the island’s education, commerce, tourism, history and culture, as well as projecting past elements of the political scene that helped shape Cyprus’ history.  Dennis Wholey and his crew obtained important interviews with high-ranked officials and shot extensive on-location footage of many impressive and historic sites in an effort to best tell the story of the country.

In addition to the 3-part program, which will be broadcasted on all Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) stations and American Life TV Cable Network, This Is America prepared an introductory program titled This Is America Visits the Ancient World. The program explores the biblical location of the Pillar of St. Paul in Cyprus, the desert city of Petra in Jordan and the Pyramids of ancient Egypt.
