AHI Appoints Andonios Neroulias As President Of AHI New York Chapter

The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) is pleased to announce the appointment of long-time member and supporter, Col. Andonios Neroulias, U.S.A. (Ret.), as president of AHI's Greater New York Metropolitan Chapter. AHI welcomes the appointment of this individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills throughout his career, and a deep commitment to the Hellenic community in the U.S.

Demonstrating his persistent support of the organization, Col. Neroulias is one of the founding members of the AHI Business Network, which was initiated in 1989 to reach out to the business experience of Greek Americans through a sharing of business information, knowledge and contacts. His accomplishments in this capacity and as a leader in both the business world and in the military make Col. Neroulias ideally suited to expand the New York Chapter's membership and to create a dynamic agenda from which all local AHI members and the community will benefit.

For the past 20 years, Col. Neroulias has been involved in the ownership, operational management, leasing and sale of commercial and residential real estate primarily in the New York Metropolitan area, as well as in other parts of the U.S. Prior to entering the real estate business, he worked as a linguist editor and area officer of the U.S. Foreign Broadcast Information Service.

Upon graduation from the City College of the City University of New York with a B.S. degree in physics and education, he was commissioned an officer in the US Army and served on active duty for three years. He is a Vietnam War veteran, an honor graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and remained in the U.S. Army Reserve for 27 years. Among his military awards are the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge.

Currently, Col. Neroulias is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, the American Management Association, American Legion, Reserve Officers Association, the Retired Officers Association and the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce where he has held various positions including that of president. He has served on the Parish Council of the Church of Our Saviour in Rye, New York, where he was instrumental in transforming the Greek Language School into a multifaceted institution of Hellenic Education.

Col. Neroulias was born in Greece, is married to Eva Stavrinides from Cyprus. They have two daughters, Nicole and Laura.
