AHI Statement On The Occasion Of The Anniversary Of The September 11 Tragedy

WASHINGTON, DC -- On the occasion of the first anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks against the United States, the American Hellenic Institute (AHI) takes this opportunity to extend its deepest sympathies and support to the families and friends of the victims in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. The terrorist attacks were not just an attack on the U.S., but on the broader ideals of democracy and freedom. The AHI firmly believes that our collective response to the terrorists who committed these acts should be paralleled with a crusade for the promotion of American values of freedom, liberty, democracy, the rule of law and human rights worldwide and in all of our foreign policy decisions.
