U.S. Ambassador to Greece Thomas Miller Visits the American Hellenic Institute WASHINGTON DC—On October 6, 2003, U.S. Ambassador to Greece Thomas J. Miller visited the American Hellenic Institute. Ambassador Miller engaged in a two-hour, off the record conversation with AHI leadership including AHI Chairman James Marketos, AHI Advisory Board Members Nick Karambelas, Kostas Alexakis and Peter C. Pappas, Executive Director Nick Larigakis, long time AHI supporters Jim and Ted Pedas, Steve Yeonas and George Christacos, and AHI General Counsel Gene Rossides. Ambassador Miller highlighted issues of mutual interest regarding U.S.-Greece relations, such as the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, Greek-Turkish relations, Cyprus, the Greek E.U. Presidency, the Iraq War and…the Greek National Baseball team! Responding to questions he also commented on the situation of the Greek economy, the upcoming elections and immigration issues. Ambassador Miller reiterated that AHI is doing a very important job by continuing to bring these issues to the forefront of U.S. foreign policy makers.
