The AHI Annual Delegation Trip to Greece and Cyprus Scheduled for Early June

WASHINGTON, DC—The annual AHI delegation will depart for a two-week trip to Cyprus and Greece. A delegation representing the American Hellenic Institute will travel from June 5-June 16, 2006, making stops in Nicosia and Athens. The delegation is scheduled to meet with government officials and business leaders in both countries to discuss items of mutual concern and cooperation. Through this visit, the delegation aims to advance and project AHI's goals and objectives in Greece and Cyprus.

In addition, the AHI will hold its 2nd Annual Athens Hellenic Heritage Achievement and National Public Service Awards Gala Dinner on June 14, 2006 at the Grand Bretagne Hotel. Also sponsoring this event is the AHI-Athens Chapter and is in cooperation with the Hellenic American National Council (HANC).

The 2006 honorees are two extraordinary individuals who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields of endeavor, Alexandra Mitsotakis, President, ActionAid Hellas and Prodromos Emfietzoglou, Chairman, Michaniki Group of Companies.

The delegation will be led by AHI President and founder Gene Rossides and AHI Executive Director Nick Larigakis and will include other members of AHI’s Advisory Committee.

The delegation will conduct meetings in Nicosia from June 5-June 9, and then will proceed to Athens, staying there from June 9- June 16.
