AHI Annual Delegation to Greece and Cyprus Departs this weekend

WASHINGTON, DC —The annual AHI delegation will depart for a two-week trip to Cyprus and Greece. A delegation representing the American Hellenic Institute will travel from May 24 – June 4, 2010 making stops in Nicosia and Athens. The delegation is scheduled to meet with government officials and business leaders in both countries to discuss items of mutual concern and cooperation. Through this visit, the delegation aims to advance and project AHI's goals and objectives in Greece and Cyprus.

In addition, the AHI will hold its 6th Annual Athens Hellenic Heritage Achievement and National Public Service Awards Gala Dinner on June 2, 2010 at the Grand Bretagne Hotel. Also sponsoring this event is the AHI-Athens Chapter.

The 2010 honorees are two extraordinary individuals who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields of endeavor, Mrs. Niki Goulandris, Co-founder and President of the Goulandris Natural History Museum and Professor Dimitrios Pandermalis, President of the Organizing Committee for the Construction of the New Acropolis Museum.

The delegation will be led by AHI President Aleco Haralambides and AHI Executive Director Nick Larigakis and will include other members of AHI’s Board of Directors.

The delegation will conduct meetings in Nicosia from May 24 – May 27, and then will proceed to Athens, staying there from May 28 – June 4.
