AHI Hosts Eighth Annual Golf Classic; Panel Discussion on Sports Held Prior to TournamentWASHINGTON, DC — On October 17, 2011, the American Hellenic Institute (AHI) hosted its Eighth Annual Golf Classic at Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria, Va. Celebrity appearances were made by Larry Michael, Voice of the Washington Redskins, and Christine Brennan, sports columnist, USA Today, both of who appeared at a morning panel discussion about current events and issues affecting the sporting world. The Tournament Sponsor was Calamos Investments. “We are very pleased that our Annual Golf Classic continues to grow each year,” said AHI President Nick Larigakis. “We hope to be able to continue to build on this success. Also, we are grateful to our organizers, all of the generous sponsors and golfers who took the time to support AHI and its programs.” The first place team was comprised of: Peter Marketos, Michael Moore, Thomas Pellicane, and Duane Jahner.
