AHI, ANCA Issue Call for Presidential Candidates to Address Policy Concerns of Greek, Armenian American Communities

WASHINGTON, DC — The American Hellenic Institute (AHI) and the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) issued the following joint statement calling on the campaigns of President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney to engage with the Greek and Armenian American communities:

"As two of the leading Greek and Armenian American advocacy organizations, we join together today in calling upon President Obama and Governor Romney to publicly present the specific principles, priorities, and policies that would guide their Administration's actions on issues of special concern to our nation's nearly five million citizens of Greek and Armenian heritage."

On October 3, 2012, AHI sent letters to both presidential campaigns requesting that they each issue a campaign statement to the Greek American community on issues of importance to it.

The American Hellenic Institute is a non-profit Greek American think-tank and public policy center that works to strengthen relations between the United States and Greece and Cyprus, and within the Greek American community.
