Phillies Release More Tickets for AHI-sponsored Greek Heritage Night

Greek Ambassador to Throw Out First Pitch

WASHINGTON, DC — The Philadelphia Phillies will release additional tickets due to the high demand of tickets already sold for the organization’s Greek Heritage Night, May 28, 2014, at Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia.  The event is sponsored by the American Hellenic Institute (AHI).

According to AHI President Nick Larigakis, Ambassador of Greece to the U.S. Christos Panagopoulos will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.  The popular Phillies mascot, The Phillie Phanatic, will sport an Evzone costume and lead a Greek dance.

“We thank the community for its strong support of this event, which is clearly evident by the high volume of tickets already sold,” AHI President Nick Larigakis said.  “It’s a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate pride in our heritage at a widely-attended event.  It promises to be an exciting evening in celebration of Greek heritage.”

The Phillies will play the Colorado Rockies.

The American Hellenic Institute is an independent non-profit Greek American public policy center and think tank that works to strengthen relations between the United States and Greece and Cyprus, and within the Greek American community.
